Brandy IMPERIAL XII VSOP continues to win awards in global competitions. The drink, which has already been praised by international top-level experts on several occasions, has won the prestigious “The World Brandy Awards” competition. The brandy produced at Alita’s production factory, owned by MV GROUP Production, was awarded a gold medal in the annual “World Drink Awards“ competition organised by “The World Brandy Awards“. According to Vitalijus Aksiutinas, Alita’s Production Manager, the drink is unique due to its double maturation, and experts from all over the world have appreciated its expressive taste and aroma.

A taste rated gold

“Floral aromas with a hint of fresh fruit and a palate of raisins and fruitcake, apples and pears. Good complexity and a broad spectrum of flavours”, is how the “World Brandy Awards“ jury described IMPERIAL XII VSOP, arguing why it deserves to be named best in its category.

According to Vitalijus Aksiutinas, Alita’s Production Manager, this award is an appreciation of the work of the entire Alita team and the best proof that the Alytus factory produces the highest quality beverages that are recognised by world class experts.

“The product has been in production for almost 15 years, and we do not compromise and strive for the highest standards in the development and production of this beverage, and the award at “The World Brandy Awards“ confirms that our specialists are doing a good job of it,” says Aksiutinas.

Each year, the “World Drinks Awards“ aim to honour the very best in the global drinks industry. A professional jury evaluates a wide range of products and competently determines which ones deserve the title of best.  It is a prestigious global competition that judges the best brandies from around the world. The annual event follows a rigorous tasting process to identify and honour the most outstanding brandies from around the world.

Unique production – double maturation

According to Aksiutinas, this is not the first time that IMPERIAL XII VSOP brandy has been awarded a silver medal in another prestigious competition, the “International Wine & Spirit Competition“ (IWSC). He adds that it is the unique production – the double maturation – that makes this drink unique and is appreciated by experts from all over the world.

“IMPERIAL XII VSOP is produced using a 12-step production process based on a unique method of double maturation. Initially, as is mandatory for all quality brandy, it is stored in oak barrels, but this is not the only way. After the main maturation and blending of the raw materials, the brandy is matured again with cherry wood chips,” says V. Aksiutinas, Head of Production at Alita, about the production process of IMPERIAL XII VSOP brandy.
