Rimas Jovaišas
Did you know that our colleague Rimas Jovaišas, the head of the technical services of the Alita factory, is a multiple champion of orienteering? Rimas has been running on the competition tracks since 1975, and during that time he has won several dozen different trophies!
“I tried orienteering for the first time as a student, in the second year, and I won second place. Apparently, it was a success, but not only that – I was a rural child, I would say, quite thoughtful, I easily understood the rules. I was then invited to pursue it further. I have remained so until now, and today I am a veteran,” says Rimas.
Oriental sports enthusiasts, as well as professionals, our colleague compare to “running chess players” – it is necessary not only to be physically strong and to cross mountains and swamps but also to orientate quickly, to have a good memory and strategy.
